| Match Report | Report from the Ross-shire Journal. Ross County 4 King's Own Scottish Borderers 2 The replay took place the following night, again at Inverness, and in this game County came out top by four goals to two. County were always superior, although for the greater part of the second half the soldiers held a one-goal lead. As time drew on, the County stirred themselves to some tune and scored three goals in quick succession. At half time, County led by one goal to nil. On the resumption, the soldiers quickly equalised, and a penalty awarded against Urquhart gave them the lead. With but fifteen minutes to go, Mackenzie equalised, Cowie putting the County ahead, while Mackenzie made the tie safe with another point. Urquhart was again the main man on the County side, while Mackenzie’s play also attracted attention. Garrow and R. Macleod were two good wing halves with Anderson a cool and confident back. |
