Greenock Morton 1 Ross County 1 ROSS County are still looking for their first win in the Championship this season as they were unable to hold on to their lead against Greenock Morton at Cappielow. Ronan HALE gave the Staggies the lead in the first half, but Cameron BLUES levelled for Morton to give both teams a share of the points. After eight matches, ninth placed County have yet to find a victory in the Championship this season and are only a point above Airdrieonians at the bottom who lost 4-2 at Ayr United today. Manager Tony Docherty gave a debut to Trevor Carson in goal this afternoon after signing him from Dundee on loan on Thursday as Ross Laidlaw was dropped to the bench. Ross County took the lead from the penalty spot in the 16th minute when Scott Fraser was fouled by Cammy Macpherson in the box. HALE stepped up to find the net from 12 yards out to give them the lead. But Morton equalised with 16 minutes remaining when BLUES beat the County defence to a corner kick to score from close range. Neither team were able to find a winner and both teams took a point. |
