Ross County 5 Inverness Clachnacuddin 1 Ross County took another firm step towards their Highland League title since 1966 with this 5-1 victory over Clach. The Lilywhites were reeling for long spells and the inevitable happened in 26min when Brian GRANT put County ahead following a bad pass back. Just 3min from the interval Robertson put DUFF through and the North's top scorer made no mistake. Clach's Alex Caldwell came on for Taylor in 54min, just in time to see a Ferries free kick headed home by LEMMON. Clach enjoyed their best spell after this and forced two left wing corners with Reid and Stewart coming close. As County came back again Mullholland was booked for halting Williamson in full cry and in the next minute Benson suffered the same fate for a comment to the official. Campbell saw his 30yd shot tipped on to the bar by Rudkin as County stepped up the pace again and with 6min left Robert ALLAN got a fourth. STEWART got Clach's crumb of comfort 3min from time, but CONNELLY ran through to complete County's nap hand in the last minute. |
