| Match Report | Match Report Report by Mike Tremlett for the Press & Journal. Cove Rangers 3 Ross County 1 Cove Rangers bounced back from an early setback to beat Ross County 3-1 and collect their first points of the new TSB Highland League campaign at Allan Park on Saturday. The victory also gave the Aberdeen side's confidence a major boost before Wednesday's Tennents Highland League Cup semi-final trip to Brora. Cove were a goal down after only 45 seconds when Grant SMITH headed pass Steve Becket, but the first half ended with the match finely balanced at 1-1 after Doug BAXTER equalised in 33 minutes. They fought off an early second half onslaught from County and went ahead when Mike CORMACK scored from the penalty spot and namesake MEGGINSON, whose powerful running yielded the spot kick, added the crucial third 15 minutes from time. |
