Cove Rangers 1 Ross County 0
Striker Raymond YULE was the Cove Rangers' goal hero in the 1-0 win against TSB Highland League champions Ross County at Allan Park on Saturday.
The speedy forward has found goals hard to come by this season, but his fifth strike of the season--a close-range effort on the half-hour--saw Cove open up a four-point gap at the top of the table.
Cove's win leaves the defending champions 12 points adrift of the league lead with four games in hand--a gap which manager Bobby Wilson admits will be hard to breach.
He said: "Going into the game we knew the game in hand had to be won if we're going to hang on to the title and Saturday's result at Cove makes them doubly important.
"We're disappointed to have come away with nothing. We made enough chances to win the game in the first half and lost a goal against the run of play, but Cove could have score three or four in the second half. A draw would have been a fair outcome."
