Caledonian FC 4 Ross County 0 Two first goals from veteran Billy URQUHART and second half strikes from Alan HERCHER and Danny MACDONALD saw Caley beat champions Ross County 4-0. But Caley paid a high price for their victory as full back Billy Skinner, the club's record signing, suffered a broken right leg in the third minute--which has effectively ended his season. And to further take the shine off, midfielder Colin Mitchell was put on the Telford Street transfer list at his own request. "Fortunately, Billy's break is relatively uncomplicated and he could be back in harness as early as March," said Caley co-manager John Beaton. "I was delighted with our performance. There were a number of one-on-one battles which had to be won and we came out on top in all of them." He added: "I'm disappointed that Colin Mitchell has decided that he feels he has no future at Telford Street. The club have reluctantly agreed to his transfer request, but we are trying to build a squad here and will do everything we can to persuade him to change his mind," Ross County's plans were upset before the game when sweeper Robbie Williamson tweaked a hamstring in the warm-up and had to be pulled out before the kick-off. An early injury to Jamie McPherson also harmed County's cause.
