| Match Report | Match Report Report by Mike Tremlett for the Press & Journal. Inverness Clachnacuddin 1 Ross County 4 Holders Ross County cruised into their second successive Press and Journal Inverness Cup final with a comfortable 4-1 win against Clach last night. County went in front against the run of play in 17 minutes when Connelly flighted in a cross which Grant nodded down for DUFF to slide the ball under the Clach keeper from six yards. County went two up in 37 minutes when a BELLSHAW header squirmed under Clach keeper Stewart after the big County pivot climbed to reach a Connelly corner. A minute before half-time ROBERTSON extended County's lead with a 25-yard shot which left Stewart helpless. MACPHERSON gave Clach a lifeline just before the break when he steered a great header past the County keeper. CONNELLY made it 4-1 in 68 minutes, rifling in a half-volley after Ross set him up just inside the Clach penalty area. |
