Ross County 0 Livingston 2 Ross County were thrust into the relegation mire after losing two late goals against Livingston at Victoria Park on Saturday. Goals from Livi substitutes Graham Dorrans and Liam Fox earned John Robertson’s side all three points after it played second fiddle to County for most of the First Division match. County had a chance to move five points clear of second-bottom Airdrie United, who were idle, but according to County manager Scott Leitch, his men shot them-selves in the foot. Leitch said: “We did well for 70 minutes, but the lasts for 90 and we didn’t take our chances. Certain players did well, but we need all of them to be firing. We are now in a position where we have to fight for our lives and the players will have to work really and roll up their sleeves.” County looked in determined mood from the kick-off and Michael Gardyne’s cross in the ninth minute was touched on by fellow on-loan Celt Diarmuid ‘O’Carroll, but Joe Hamill whipped the ball away before Don Cowie could pounce. The impressive Gardyne, watched from the stand by Celtic manager Gordon Strachan, was then unlucky when his goalbound shot was deflected wide. County missed a great chance to open the scoring in the 39th minute when Cowie released O’Carroll down the right. The forward shot straight at goalkeeper Colin Stewart instead of laying the ball off for Dene Sheilds, who was better placed. County started the second half at a blistering pace and after Shields had a header saved by Stewart, O’Carroll fired the ball against a post when he should have scored, and Gardyne’s attempt to prod in the rebound was thwarted by a last-gasp tackle from Scott Mitchell. Livi took the lead against the run of play in the 77th minute when a Steven Tweed knockdown inside the County box fell nicely for Dorrans, who squeezed the ball home from eight yards.
