Partick Thistle 0 Ross County 2 There was festive cheer at Firhill for Ross County. County hit the front in the 24th minute when Sean Higgins deftly chipped the ball over the head of Jonny Tuffey. Thistle rarely looked like equalising although Liam Buchanan did see a header clip the top of the bar as half-time drew near. Thistle's misery increased when Marc Twaddle was sent off for a second bookable offence with 20 minutes of the game remaining and salt was rubbed into Thistle's wounds four minutes from the end when Higgins netted his second goal of the afternoon to send the Staggies back up the A9 with all three points.
