Steven Craig gave County the lead in the final minute of the first half when he turned in a Richard Brittain cross. Michael Gardyne doubled the lead in the 56th minute with a well-struck volley after good work from Garry Wood before Scott Morrison made it 3-0 in the 72nd minute after he played a neat one-two with Paul Lawson. The goals kept coming and Gardyne added a fourth after 75 minutes when he hammered home a cross from Craig, and, with 11 minute remaining substitute John Stewart nodded in another Brittain corner. Montrose's best chance came in the final minute when substitute Jordan Leyden was clear through on goal but County keeper Michael McGovern made a fine save.
