Rothes 0 Ross County 4 Another first class performance by Ross County at Rothes on Saturday should have given that little touch more confidence for this week’s Qualifying Cup-tie with Buckie Thistle at Victoria Park, Dingwall. At Rothes, the team turned in a slick performance once they had taken the lead from the penalty spot in the 20th minute, when Don Cowie scored — no messing about on this occasion, and no chance given to the keeper. Nine minutes later George Stewart put them two up, when he sprung the Rothes off-side trap, broke through and scored. Three minutes into the second half, Gordon Connolly netted a brilliant goal and sealed the issue, with Chris Somerville emphasising County’s superiority in the 87th minute with another cracking goal. Best of luck against Buckie Thistle. |
