Peterhead 1 Ross County 1
Ross County took the lead through Scott LEMMON on Saturday--and looked in control until Alan STRACHAN buried a splendid volley four minutes from time from a cross by Paul Mackenzie.
Peterhead thus became the only team Ross failed to beat in the league this season--the two having drawn 0-0 at Dingwall last August.
Ross County manager Bobby Wilson said: "I am planning a new-style build-up to next season to give the lads a fresh approach in pre-season training. Now that we've won the title, we don't intend to give it up easily."
He revealed he had a call of congratulations on Friday from Aberdeen co-manager Jocky Scott, his former Dundee teammate.
"It was nice of Jocky to take time to phone me when his club had a big game on their hands," said Bobby. "We talked about Aberdeen sending a young side to Dingwall at the start of the season."
County were delighted to find that the sign on their dressing room at Peterhead had been changed to read "Champions"--and they were given a cake by Peterhead, bearing congratulations.
