Ross County 4 Buckie Thistle 1 Key Ross County midfielder Robbie Williamson, who spent the second half of the league leaders' 4-1 win over Buckie Thistle on the Victoria Park treatment table, is expected to be fit in time to face Inverness Thistle at Kingsmills on Wednesday night. The County midfield workhorse failed to reappear after the interval in a finely-poised match after picking up a hamstring strain in the first half. But manager Bobby Wilson is confident that the player will be back on duty at Kingsmills when County attempt to end the Jags nine-game winning run and go a step closer to clinching the TSB Highland League title in the process. "Robbie felt the injury at half time and with the score at 2-1 at the time lead we decided to pull him out at that stage," said the County boss. "He had treatment there and then and will have more over the next couple of days, but we recon he should be okay for Wednesday." At the interval, County led Buckie by the odd goal in three without looking perticularly convincing. They had led from the fifth minute, when Alan DUFF scored with a header laid on by a cute backheel from Gordon Connelly and a pinpoint cross from Chris Somerville. Brian GRANT followed in a shot from Alan Duff to be on the mark in the 34th minute when Buckie keeper Alex Innes could only parry, but a neat inter-change between Neil COWIE and youngster Gary Clark a minute later let in the former Keith midfielder, who stroked a 20 yard left foot shot past Ure. Though they lacked a touch of creativity in midfield. Buckie could have equalised when Alan McPherson hit the base of Ure's right-hand post with a header, but at that point Gordon CONNELLY weighed in with County's third--a clever flicked volley with the outside of his right boot which left Innes stranded--and the points were safe. GRANT rounded off the scoring three minutes from time with a well struck shot wide of the on coming Jags keeper after he was put through by centre half Johnston Bellshaw. After the match, Bobby Wilson said: "Result are far more important than the level of performance at this stage in the campaign. "I would have been happy enough at 2-1, but we got the third goal and then the gaps started to appear. "We are definitely not as sharp up front as we were earlier in the season, but we've put a couple of bad results behind us now and we're still in the driving seat in terms of the title. "We don't expect things to get any easier because everybody now knows how we play and that makes things that bit harder, but we'll be sticking to the task." County fans saw Johnston Bellshaw and Scott Lemmon put in good individual showings, though they have played better as a unit on a number of occasions this season. In midfield, Chris Somerville covered miles in support of Gordon Connelly-- who had the better skipper Ray Pirie. The County striking partnership of Duff and Grant were full of movement and difficult to mark.
