Deveronvale 0 Ross County 7
Deveronvale co-manager Billy Anderson yesterday wrote off the pack chasing TSB Highland League leaders Ross County after watching his side go down 7-0 to league leaders at Princess Royal Park on Saturday.
He said: "You might as well gave them the title now because nobody's going to catch them. The league championship is as good as over as a contest.
"Ross County are by far the best side in the league this season and they will thoroughly deserve the championship when they finally tie it up because of the way they go about their business.
"On Saturday, we had a chance to get back into the game during a 20 minute spell early in the second half. We missed a chance and they killed us off and even when they were 3-0 up they didn't ease back. They kept coming forward looking for more."
Saturday's emphatic County win saw Alan Duff, who ran in a second half hat-trick, take over as the league's top scorer with 24 goals--three ahead of the chasing pack.
Brian GRANT opened the County account in 19 minutes and by Half time Gordon CONNELLY had added No. 2.
DUFF's hat-trick, GRANT and sweeper Albert ALLAN completed the rout.
