| Match Report | Match Report Report from the Press & Journal. Fort William 0 Ross County 5 Without suspended players Masson and Conlon and new signing Dave Shearer, Fort William were no match for a slick Ross County. Ross County's superiority was rewarded after 39 minutes when Billy FERRIES collected the ball from the edge of the box and sent in an angled shot which MacLean could only parry into the net. After 42 minutes FERRIES received a pass on the edge of the penalty box, beat full back Flanigan and neatly slotted the ball inside the right hand post. In 49 minutes CONNELLY headed into the net from eight yards following good work from Ferries on the right wing. The goal of the match was scored by ROBERTSON when, in the 68th minute, he received the ball on the left touchline around 35 yards out, beat three players and rifled home an unstoppable shot. County went nap when substitute LAIDLAW netted. |
