| Match Report | Match Report Report from the Press & Journal. Ross County 5 Brora Rangers 1 Ross County raiders Brian Grant a d Alan Duff grabbed five goals between them as the league champions booked their place in next week's Press and Journal Inverness Cup final. The opening 10 minutes suggested County were going to get things pretty much their own way. Jimmy Anderson hooked a Grant shot clear on the goal line and Bellshaw shaved the Brora bar with a 30-yard screamer. County went ahead in 12 minutes when GRANT ran through the Brora rear guard to round keeper Stewart and tap the ball home. However, Brora equalised four minutes later when County's defence were found wanting, leaving HUGHES to stab the ball home from close range after drawing keeper Ure off his line. Grant swung in a cross from the left and DUFF bulleted in a near-post header in 37 minutes to put Ross back in front. Stewart stood his ground well early in the second half to block a powerful shot from Duff, but he was caught out when Wilson crossed from the right for DUFF to put County 3-1 ahead three minutes later. Livewire Wilson was again the provider when he laid on a simple finish for GRANT to bag County's fourth on the hour. DUFF completed his hat-trick 15 minutes from time after Wilson again had the Brora defence at sixes and sevens. |
