| Comments | Match Report Report by Bill McAllister for the Press & Journal. Ross County 2 Queen's Park 0 Ross County, with no competitive match now till Boxing Day, can enjoy their breather with a sense of accomplishment from two successive victories which have pulled them back into the main Third Division pack. Though still anchored in seventh place, where they have languished for nearly two months, the Dingwall men have now opened a 10-point gap on the team below them, while moving to within three points of the team above them, Caledonian Thistle, whom they entertain on January 2. As they take their break, County are 12 points off a promotion place but manager Bobby Wilson is relatively content and admits the win over Queen's Park was a big lift to morale. "Going into the close-down on a defeat would have been a downer we'd think about for three weeks," hr said. "As it is, we have caught up with the pack again after being eight points behind a fortnight ago. It shows how quickly things can change in this division, where I don't think there is much between the top seven teams." |
