Partick Thistle 4 Ross County 2
Ross County missed out on an opportunity to cut the gap on leaders Clyde at the top of the Division 2 with a lacklustre performance that frustrated Neale Cooper.
Debutant Derek Ferguson was sent off for a second bookable offence with 20 minutes remaining, but manager Cooper felt the former Rangers midfielder was one of the few who deserved pass marks.
Cooper said: "I felt that Derek's sending off was harsh and he displayed the attitude, commitment and passion I'm looking for in the side. I need players who are willing to battle it out in a tough league where there is little between the teams at the top and the bottom."
County keeper Nicky Walker failed a late-fitness test and Cooper Said: "We had to bring in young Gary Hamilton, who did well despite making a mistake for their third goal."
George Shaw tapped home the opener in the 10th minute, but three minutes later Martin Lindau grabbed the first of his brace when he chipped in the equaliser.
County fell behind two minutes before the break when Albert Craig netted, but within two minutes of the restart former Hearts striker Derek Holmes heading home after Steve Ferguson's lob came back off the crossbar.
Jags regained the lead when Namibian midfielder Quenton Jacobs scored direct from a corner kick and with time running out Lindau added his secomd.
