Brechin City 0 Ross County 2 Ross County warmed up for the new season with a 2-0 victory at Brechin but they were made to battle all the way by the Third Division side. From the corner Maxwell had a header turned behind for another corner and from Kinnaird's flag kick Brian Irvine headed cleanly home. Brechin tried for a goal in the closing minutes of the first half and trialist Ryan Green shot just wide from an angle.
