Inverness Caledonian Thistle 3 Ross County 0 Caley Thistle star Dave Buchannan made it hot for Ross County--and got the cold shoulder from his pals. Dave helped wreck his old team's promotion dream, but couldn't have bought company back home in Dingwall on Saturday night! Dave--whose dad John used to Manage Ross County--admitted. "My mates came through for the match and gave me pelters during the game. "They even gave me abuse when I was carried off with an ankle injury! "But I had the last laugh. I was really wound up for the game and it's the best result I've had in football "I was signed by Ross County a couple of years ago, but things didn't work out so I jumped at the chance when Sergei Baltacha asked me to go to Caley Thistle. "I'm a Caley man through and through now--and even my dad was cheering for us." Goals by Norman MacMillan, Alan Hercher and Charlie Christie sealed County's fate. And Thistle Boss Baltacha revealed his men had dedicated victory to him after his midweek resignation. He Explained: "They said they'd win the game for m and I really appreciate the gesture. It was a great day." But gutted County boss Bobby Wilson was furious with his side's performance. He'll take disciplinary action against Andy MacLeod, who was sent off after just 10 minutes for a clash with Mark McRitchie. Wilson fired "It left us with an uphill task. It was ridiculous. "All the players were warned about intimidation before the game--yet Andy MacLeod put his foot in first. "There's no excuse and he will de disciplined internally. "With Billy Ferries sent off for a double booking late on, were two players down for our last match. "That's crazy because our discipline has been good." "It's disappointing, but maybe another year in Division Three will do us good." |
