| Comments | Match Report Report from the Press & Journal. Alloa Athletic 1 Ross County 1 Former Don Andy MacLeod, the Ross County striker, is out of Wednesday's home game with Albion Rovers after pulling a hamstring in the opening minutes of Saturday's dour deadlock at Recreation Park. County defender Chris Somerville, who missed the game with a groin strain, is also very doubtful for the midweek match. But Dingwall teenager Dave MacKay was a star stand-in at Alloa, his performance being the highlight of what Ross boss Bobby Wilson described as "a totally uninteresting game". The draw enabled second-placed East Stirling to stretch their lead over County to four points--and it's looking as if East Stirling's visit to Dingwall on the last day of the season could decide the promotion place. "I'm not too worried about East Stirling going four points clear because at three points for a win you can soon bridge that gap," said manager Wilson. "It's up to us to produce the victories to do so." Montrose's defeat at Forfar leaves them three points behind County with a game in hand. The run-in gathers pace with East Stirling at Alloa tomorrow night followed by County's opportunity to harvest full points against bottom dogs Rovers. The goals at Recreation Park were both flukes--Keith McCulloch scored for Alloa with a mishit, which shot up off his shin and over the keeper, then Alloa defender Robby Wyllie headed into his own net a minute later trying to hit the ball out for a corner. |
