| Comments | Match Report Report from the Daily Record. Queen of the South 0 Ross County 2 Paul Kinnaird completed his Dingwall double with a superb 25-yard free-kick into the roof of the net to make it 2-0. However, while the wee man was delighted with the dead-ball strike, his first goal gave him even more pleasure. He said: "A high ball into the box was caught by the wind and I just managed to get in front of a defender and head it--and it looped into the net. "I felt over the moon because I don't score many with my head." County were lucky not to concede an early goal after Queen's created several chances during the opening period. But a couple of fine saves from Nicky Walker--and some mediocre marksmanship--saw the chances all scorned. The breakthrough came three minutes into the second half when Kinnaird snatched that vital header. And then, in 65 minutes, his free-kick from just outside the box sealed the victory. Queens' new chairman Ronnie Bradford said: "I was disappointed but the boys gave everything they had in the first half. "Then we lost a silly goal and the heads went down." |
